Building On Strong Foundations
Reconcile New Orleans has committed to a Capital Expansion Project titled, Building on Strong Foundations, to renovate its five-story, 13,000 square foot building owned debt-free, thereby creating a holistic center offering services in support of our training programs, as well as our students’ family members and our neighbors in Central City. The construction and renovation will expand the organizations capacity through:
▪The renovation of the first-floor restaurant, Café Reconcile, thereby increasing the size and layout of our kitchen, the capacity of the restaurant and the expansion of our culinary training program;
▪The construction of the second-floor Emeril Lagasse Foundation Culinary Training Institute, a state of the art space housing a demonstration kitchen and classroom training facility for use by our culinary students, as well as a banquet hall, to also provide innovative culinary programs to school groups, host community events and allow for food safety training;
▪The Upper three floors will be renovated to offer support services for the neighborhood and the youth we serve, including the Shell E&P Business Accelerator Center to promote entrepreneurship in the local population, a Family Learning Center, and house classrooms for our students and office space for our reconcile employees.
These projects will propel Reconcile New Orleans into the near future, greatly expanding the depth of our youth training programs and scope of services provided to New Orleans youth and the Central City community. The envisioned holistic learning center will be a beacon of hope for the community and serve as a cornerstone in the redevelopment of the Oretha Castle Haley business corridor.
